HippyFish didn’t start as a business plan, it started at a small table over a glass of wine.

Anneline was gently closing the door on a business that no longer felt alive. Tired, unsure, and standing in that strange space between an ending and whatever comes next, she showed Karin a crochet bikini brand she adored and said, “I wish I could create something like this.”

Karin, who has been crocheting for decades, blankets, heirlooms, gifts made with care, surprised her a few weeks later with a hand-crocheted bikini. And something clicked. A spark. A quiet “yes.”

One chapter was closing, and another opened for both of us.

We never planned to work together. We are from different generations and different worlds, but when it comes to colour, texture, and making something with our hands, our visions met in the middle. What started as curiosity slowly grew into HippyFish, stitch by stitch.

We are still learning. Crafting with your hands is one thing; running a business is another. But we are figuring it out together, supported by everyone who has believed in us, worn our pieces, shared our work, or trusted us with a custom fit. HippyFish exists because of that community - because of you.

A lot of our inspiration comes from old weaving traditions, where women gathered in circles, sat on the earth, and created together. That rhythm, weaving, talking, dreaming, feels like the heart of HippyFish. Whether we are crocheting, beading, choosing colours, or shaping new designs, there’s always that sense of circle and intention.

We want you to feel that.
